Loose Tube Stranded Armored Flame Retardant Optical Cable with Non-Metallic Central Strength Member (GYFTZA53)

GYFTZA53 cable is constructed by placing 250µm fibers into loose tubes made of high-modulus material; the loose tubes are filled with water-blocking compound. The center of the cable core is a non-metallic central strength member (FRP) for certain fiber counts, a layer of polyethylene (PE) is extruded over the central strength member. The loose tubes and filler rods are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact, round cable core, and the gaps in the core are filled with water-blocking filler. Coated aluminum tape (APL) is longitudinally wrapped, and a polyethylene inner jacket is extruded over it. Double-sided coated steel tape (PSP) is longitudinally wrapped, and a flame-retardant outer jacket is extruded to form the cable.
