Standard Fiber Patch Cords

Indoor standard optical fiber patch cords come in a rich variety of models and can be classified in several ways. By connector type, the common ones include SC, LC, FC and ST. The SC connector has a square profile and is easy to plug and unplug, and is widely used in data centers and structured cabling. The LC connector is compact, suited to high-density cabling scenarios. The FC connector uses a threaded coupling for excellent stability. The ST connector uses a bayonet coupling and was widely used in early fiber-optic networks.

Armored Fiber Patch Cords

An armored optical fiber patch cord is wrapped with a metal armor layer (such as a stainless steel tube or steel wire braid), which withstands crushing, pulling and impact, and also resists rodent gnawing and corrosion, suiting complex indoor environments. The armor layer reduces external interference and signal attenuation, ensuring stable high-speed data transmission (e.g., 10G/800Gbps). It retains the flexibility of a standard patch cord and can be routed in tight spaces with bends (minimum bend radius 20/10D), while remaining compatible with a variety of installation scenarios. Custom lengths are supported.

Multi-Core Fiber Patch Cords

Multi-fiber patch cords reduce the number of cables and the space occupied by cable trays in racks, simplify cabling layouts and cut cable management work, making later maintenance and troubleshooting easier. With multiple fiber cores built in, they can transmit multiple signals simultaneously, greatly improving transmission efficiency. 4-, 8-, 12-, 24- and 48-fiber patch cords enable simultaneous transmission of multiple services (data, voice and surveillance), reducing the cost and complexity of inter-building cabling. They suit cabling in tight spaces and are compatible with a variety of indoor environments such as data centers and enterprise campuses.

MPO Fiber Patch Cords

MPO fiber patch cords are used for high-bandwidth interconnection in high-density data centers, cloud data center backbone links, 5G base station room and data center interconnection, and high-end storage area networks. They connect 40G/100G/400G switches and optical modules (e.g., a QSFP100G optical module paired with a 24-fiber MPO patch cord), and provide centralized connection between server clusters and MPO fiber patch panels. They save substantial rack space - a single 24-fiber MPO patch cord can replace 24 single-fiber LC patch cords - and meet the high-density, high-bandwidth needs of data centers.

Fiber Pigtails

A fiber pigtail provides the transition between the backbone optical cable and patch cords, and is the core component of the splice-and-patch process for fiber links in equipment rooms. Single-mode pigtails use OS2 9/125 μm fiber, suited to long-distance transmission (1310 nm/1550 nm wavelengths). Mainstream multi-mode pigtails are OM3 50/125 μm (supporting 10 Gbps) and OM4 50/125 μm (supporting 40G/100G). Common connector types include LC, SC, ST and FC. Standard lengths of 0.5 m, 1 m and 2 m are available, and armored versions are also offered.

Special Fiber Patch Cords

Special optical fiber patch cords include remote fiber, polarization-maintaining fiber, multi-fiber, single-to-multi-mode conversion fiber and aviation-plug fiber, designed specifically for high-reliability applications in industrial and harsh special environments. These patch cords feature a variety of interfaces - LC/SC/ST/FC/MTRJ/APC - in simplex, duplex or multi-fiber connector configurations. They offer excellent crush resistance and high flexibility with armored tubing, and also feature a flame-retardant LSZH outer jacket with high tolerance to chemicals commonly found in industrial environments. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor industrial installations.
